The talk was excellent in highlighting possibilities and challenges in RNA-Seq; its potential and its merits even as algorithmic details are still ironed-out at this time. Very well balanced presentation, and a topic of which we'll hear a lot more in the future.

Great overview by Onur. Very informative for someone wanting to learn more about the rich and growing field of RNA-seq.

I was excited about this meetup for two months in advance and was not disappointed. Although I come from a bit different background and needed some one-on-one Q&A afterward to quite make sense of it, Darren was helpful in that regard, and I came away knowing more than when I arrived, as well as having met and had some great conversations with others too.

This was a great meetup! Darren is an expert in this field and a great speaker. I am working on genome and transcriptome assemblies myself for quite some time now and found I learned a lot from Darren's talk and the discussions I had at this meeting, very relevant for my own work. As always I met fantastic people at this meetup.

I agree with the comments that the talk could have gone longer. Please continue to provide feedback as we try to balance talk time and networking opportunities.

Excellent presentation. There were a few slides which got cut due to time constraints which could put some later findings in better context, but - overall very good presentation!

It is an important topic, well presented by a very bright researcher. My only complaint is that it would be have been more comprehensible to me if she had more time to go into details.

The topic was interesting. The people were interesting, friendly, and welcoming. I was able to understand the gist of the presentation although it is a bit removed from my field, and learn something. There seemed to be a good mix of people in very closely related fields and people in slightly different fields. Plenty of good conversations sprang up. I also learned about other, related scientific groups from Doug.

Dr. Alvizo gave a great talk on a very interesting topic. The lightning talks provided some very interesting topics and lively discussion, especially Jason Chin's roundup of the AGBT conference and next generation sequencing technology. J. Ireland's idea for a biomarker database generated a lot of discussion and interest. And Darryl Leon's thoughts on harnessing cloud computing brought up a hot topic and challenged us all to explore the possibilities. Thanks to all who spoke and all who came!
