I've added a new meetup: July Forum: R in a Nutshell author, Joseph Adler presents: Applications of R in Bioinformatics.
Joseph Adler is a well known data mining guru and author who has applied his statistical expertise at several prominent companies including Linked-In, DoubleClick, American Express, and VeriSign. He holds a masters in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering from MIT. Joe is also the author of R in a Nutshell and Baseball Hacks from O'Reilly.
At the July forum, Joe will present a talk on the use of R for data mining applications in Bioinformatics. This will be a great meeting for experts in R who want to learn how it can be applied to Bioinformatics as well as experts in Bioinformatics who want to learn more about R. Of course, this will also be the perfect opportunity for anyone interested in Bioinformatics in the Bay Area to meet and network with like minded folks.
Refreshments and meeting facilities will be provided by our Sponsor: Life Technologies
