Oscar Alvizo from Codexis will present an overview of computational protein design (CPD), a discipline of bioinformatics which uses molecular simulations to design proteins with new and improved functions. For more details,
here is a paper from Oscar.In addition to working for one of the top enzyme evolution companies in the world, Oscar is an alumnus of the Stephen L Mayo Lab at Cal Tech. Mayo is a pioneer in the field of CPD and a founder of Molecular Simulations Inc. which produced very popular molecular modeling software now part of the Accelrys product line.

We will have lightning talks at this forum, so please bring a brief (10 minute) presentation on a topic that you want to share with the group. We should have time for as many as 4 talks, so let Doug know if you are planning on presenting one. Lightning talk slots will be given on a first requested basis. Powerpoint slides on a thumb drive to accompany your talk are optional.
