Thanks to all who attended, especially to Shane who delivered a half hour talk and Shannon Steinfadt and Doug Hershberger (me) who delivered lightning talks. We had around 14 bioinformaticians attending. Thanks also to our hosts, Michael Rusignola and Kevin Schwartz who allowed us to use the beautifully appointed conference room at PRTM (http://www.prtm.com/...) in Mountain View.

To follow up on a few items mentioned at the meeting.

  • A program group has been started, to arrange the speakers for the monthly meetups and quarterly seminars.
  • A logistics group has been started to arrange meeting spaces, refreshments and sponsors.
  • My presentation is online and I encourage the other speakers to make their presentation available through our file sharing site.
  • There is an online poll to gauge everyone's opinion on the best day to have meetings

I want to encourage everyone to get involved and join the discussions online.

Thanks again to all for making the January meeting so successful. I look forward to seeing even more of you at the February meeting!
