Great meeting everybody!

Dr. Alvizo gave a great talk on a very interesting topic. I have always found Computational Protein Design fascinating but difficult to understand . Oscar's presentation of the technique and the reasoning behind some of the methods were very helpful in clarifying this work for me. From the extensive questions and responses I gather that most others in the group also found it thought provoking.

The lightning talks provided some very interesting topics and lively discussion, especially Jason Chin's roundup of the AGBT conference and next generation sequencing technology. J. Ireland's idea for a biomarker database generated a lot of discussion and interest. And Darryl Leon's thoughts on harnessing cloud computing brought up a hot topic and challenged us all to explore the possibilities.

Speakers: If you would like to share your slides with the group, please upload them to our files section or if you would just like to e-mail them to me, I can upload them for you.

The venue was very nice. The perfect size for this group, with a great view. I think that people were able to get to it easily via public transportation and car (despite a significant BART delay coming across the Bay). Thanks to Richard Cohen from Allopartis for hosting.

Thanks to all who spoke and all who came!
